SI is self injury. TSing is adult thumbsucking. Both of these don't seem as severe as what your son is doing. I did not realize he was older. I have had problems with taking Valium to escape, and I don't use other drugs or alcohol.

Lyndsay, are you going to a med doctor (psychiatrist) or a psychologist? I go to both. They are not always fun but you have to use them to help you.

BTW, I am worried about Debbie.

I was just thinking that myself Slap. She hasn't posted since 12/14. As always, I'm keeping everyone in my thoughts and prayers, but I'm going to toss in a few extras for Debbie today. I hope everything is OK, and she's just been resting herself.

Cardiac caths supposedly take a couple of days to recover from, but I wish we knew what was going on :( Worried.

I think we are all worried about Debbie. I have written to her private e-mail and have heard nothing. I did have her home phone but I accidently erased it. Plus I don't want to bother her if she needs her rest. We all just have to keep praying and sending positive vibes and hope she writes soon.

I'm keeping Debbie in my thjoughts and prayers.

Thanks for the kind words lyndsay, I hope you don't have to deal with them later on. My mother also had them, so I carry that gene, I hope I don't pass it on to my kids.

Darn, I popped in to see if anyone had heard from her. Hopefully she's recovering & just needs more time to rest before she goes online. Still praying.

(((( Thank you )))) for all your prayers and good thoughts.
I have *Wonderful* news.
The cath. revealed that I have a good, strong heart. No blockages at all.

I do have some type of cardiac spasms that are occurring, which reduces the blood flow to my heart. At present no one understands why this is happening. And no one can explain why my O2 sats drop to the low 80's with slight exercise. I have to have more tests. I am now taking long acting nitroglycerin to prevent the heart spasms. The nitro gives me nasty headaches.... but I am not complaining. (well, maybe a little.. lol )

I am feeling a bit weak, and one of the incisions is pretty sore. There was a mishap while doing the Cardiac Catheterization. I developed a blood clot in wall of my femoral artery while they were doing the procedure. There was some moments of excitement as they thought they might have ruptures my artery. They rushed me off to have a stat CT scan. Which revealed the blood clot.

Because of the blood clot they kept me longer than initially expected. I am SOOooo.... glad to be home.

Missed you dear people.
Scott tried to get online to post to you, but said he couldn't find this thread.

(Not at all pleased with Kaiser right now, but that's a story within its self for a later time.)

Hugs to all, and again... Thank You.
Debbie

So much has happened on this thread while I have been away. Personally I feel very honored that members have put out their trusted in sharing so openly. In previous posts I have shared with you how my daughter was going to grad school to get her doctorates in psychology. She has shared with me much about different disorders, and one that struck her deeply was SI. One of her dear friends suffered from SI.
My daughter expresses her thoughts through photography.

This is a picture that she took and posted it on a photography site.

It's titled "Don't Do This To Yourself."

What a gift I find as I come on this Sunday AM. Debbie is back! So very glad you are back and all is well!
Do hope this finds everyone well and good this morning. Haven't heard how everyone is but as they say "no news is good news?!"
This past Friday I had a wierd thing happen. I know my thyroid is not working, I have to see a specialist about it but I had a meltdown. The thyroid controls just about all the systems in the body and everything just quit on me. I was crying uncontrollably, coundn't think I felt litterally as if I was melting on the inside. I also have been sick with broncitis and asthma so my body just could not handle the over load. I had a DRs. appt anyway so she just put me on strong ermergency meds until I can get my body back in balance. Anyway just being on the meds a few days I feel better. I have an appt for the specialist the first of the year. I have had a bad thyroid since I was 8 years old. I will donate it to anyone who would like it.
How is everyone doing with the cold weather?

Yeah Debbie's back. I about jumped up last night when I saw you online. Glad to hear that things are ok and seem to be working correctly. Hope to see you more on here.

Suzi-I'm so sorry that your not feeling well. I hope the meds kick in and you start to get control. I hate it when I'm so tired I just want to sleep and I have no energy. It just plain sucks!!!

I've been doing ok this week except for a head cold the end of the week and some joint pain yesterday. I wasn't able to handle my girls for a few days until the cold passed. Boy that was hard! But I made up for it yesterday.

Hope everyone has a great week. A whole week before Christmas. Hope you all are done with your shopping. I'm going to finish up Tuesday or Wednesday. I've never been this late but since hubby didn't get back to work until the beginning of the month, I've been struggling to make sure I got a few things. It's been better and will be alot better once this holiday is over. BahHumbug!

Oh... Oh.... Oh.... Suzi,
I can actually help you with this. (Since I lived in Tucson, and worked as a nurse there.) The Best of the Best Endo doctors to go to in Tucson is Dr. Sander Zwart. His office is near NorthWest Hospital, kinda across the street from Heath South.

Ya, when you thyroid is messed up... seems like all your systems run amuck. I have fought with mine for years.

Debbie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You're back and you're okay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Squeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Was worried about you!

Suzi-hate that you suffered a meltdown, but actually glad that you posted it, because you reminded me that the thyroid controls all that stuff. My emotional state has been *ridiculously* unstable the last several months, and I'm realizing after your post that it is probably the lack of thyroid meds for the last year. Stupid no insurance.

Note to Debbie: I do not think it is any coincidence that Kaiser the insurance company and Kaiser the title of a dictator are the same thing :D

Hope everyone else is doing well. I have been feeling crappy due to the dog continually waking me up for the last two weeks while he adjusts to the piggers in the house. Hope this ends soon. Was so tired and achy yesterday due to weather that I took care of the animals first thing in the morning, ran necessary errands, slept from 11:00 a.m. to about 3:30, went back to bed about 6:30 and slept all the way through till getting up this morning (though a bit early). And, I'm still tired tonight. Geez.

Have a great week everybody!!

Sarah

Sarah, I feel your pain. When I get into my no energy modes, I do almost nothing but lie on the couch. Sometimes my older two kids have helped take care of the two year old and piggies. They're wonderful. Hubby tends to forget about my hidden stuff and doesn't get it sometimes. Other times, he does and is understanding. Oh well, what are you going to do?

I hope you feel better and the dog gets to sleep too.

Thank goodness for kids. I was so worried about my piggies. I didn't get the cage cleaned out and they were dirty. I was so afraid I was going to make them sick from me and then sick from having a dirty cage. My daughter cleaned the whole cages, fed them while she let me love them and pet them and made sure they were all ok. They were all fine, I was just being paranoid.

I feel the same way about my children. On "bad joint days," I'll be lucky to get to the sofa before collapsing. My 10 year old son is now able to cook basic foods, and is an immense help with everything around the house. I feel terrible that he feels he needs to grow up "caring for Mummy," but I honestly don't know what I'd do without him. And my daughter has said many times that she wants to grow up to be a "vetramanarian" and that I am her first patient. (She feels that she should practice on humans, to be sure that her animal patients receive acceptable care... ironic, no?)
