I am trying fleece. In the litter box I am using shavings. The pigs track it everywhere. Does carefresh or another product track/stick less? They are making a mess and its awful to wash, shavings get everywhere.

I've never used shavings in my litter box before, so I can't make a comparison, but Carefresh works excellently (is that a word??) for me.

I like fleece the best, and I think its the least smelly. Its, also relatively cheap if you have your own washer and dryer. But it also requires daily work.

So for just toss the stuff in and don't worry about it for a week, Carefresh is the best. I know some places use a combination of shavings, and Carefresh, but quite frankly the piggies still pick up the shavings, which get all over the place. So even though its a bit more expensive, I'd recommend the Carefresh. We use it under our hay racks, and it doesn't get stuck to their paws and fur and make a mess like the shavings do. I'm still finding shavings from the last we used them!:yuck:

I use pine pellets in my piggies litterbox. They are easily picked up and only get messy if they are super wet. You can buy them at petstores in the rabbit/ferrt/bird aisle or cat litter aisle which is where we got ours. It's 100% pine with nothing added and it was cheaper then the one for the small animals with the same quility. But carefresh works well too it doesn't stick much it's just pretty expensive.

I went to walmart and got Critter Care. I think its the Generic for Care fresh( just a little over $5.00 for small bag) It is already tons better. I am not going back to shavings. Oh and while I was there they had fleece on sale for $2.00 a yard. Its purple and has hockey sticks and pucks on it. The pigs love it. With the cage all cleaned up and smelling good they have been booping and popcorning. Flash popcorned under his pigloo! It was so funny.

I use Carefresh in my litterbox, I've never used shavings with my guineas because I absolutely hate how the shavings some how get ALL over your house. Carefresh is bigger and tends to pack down if you press on it. That way it's not loose and won't be nearly as easy to kick out or whatever.

Thanks for the tip. I think there is a petco in town. I will have to look around and see if any other shops carry it. I also got a dust buster which helps with keeping the few little puffs cleaned up.
