Does someone know of a full list of fruits and vegetables that are good and not good for pigs? I know someone mentioned having a list - is it a full one?

Yes, I've read the nutrition info on guinealynx, but the only lists I find are ones that give favorite foods, not a listing of ALL foods.

I would not have known about corn husks or silk, I threw some away just this week, it didn't occur to me that the pigs might like them or could have them. And I had to search for the information on strawberry tops, because my pigs LOVE them and I didn't know how much they could have.

Anyway - is there a really complete list that you know of?

If you give me (or Ly, she has it too) your email, I can email you a full list of safe fruits/veggies. It's 7 pages, so it's definately big. :)

Send me a private message with your email and I will send you a list.

Thanks you so much, everyone. I went ahead and sent Ly my e-mail address and if she hasn't got time to do it I will ask RubyPiggie2. Thanks for taking the time, and thanks for the list, My Baby Mu. I see it does have corn silk on it. I guess it would not occur to me to offer the pigs something I don't even think of as a food item!

I have already emailed the list to you.

I ws wondering if someone could also send me the list please.

Would you darlings please send a list my way as well?

Also, could the piggers have strait oj in a separate water bottle? I thought I saw that in one of the photo galleries, one water bottle looked like it had oj in it. I'm running low on the vitamin c drops and have plenty of oj on hand at the moment.

Thanks

Do you mean Vitamin C drops that go into the water? They aren't good for piggies. I would just feed lots of good Vitamin C enriched veggies instead of giving the pigs orange juice. I will send you both the list.

We have printed out a list and it actually has the vegies/fruit broken down into categories of Vit. C, like which ones have high Vit.C and which ones have low Vit.C, and also have read that if you feed your cavies food high in Vit.C there is NO need to add Vit.C in water.

Could you please send a list my way as well? I sure would like to know everything they can eat. It would help aid me in giving them more variety! Thank you much! :0)

Ly, I hope you don't mind that I give people the list (though I always say you gave it to me). And Ly or me need emails to know where to send it to! ^^

I had already emailed it to everyone who requested it except Funnygpigs who just requested it from me today.

Just so everyone knows, there is a project in the works between Teresa and I concerning veggies/fruits. It's still being worked on at the moment, but there will be a nutrition page coming to Cavy Cages.

That's sounds good.

That will be great! ;)

Could one of you send one to me to? I would like a bigger list then mine (mine is 3 pages you said that one was 7).

I saw that Bamboo shoots were mentioned earlier. I just wanted to clarify if I could cut off a section of bamboo I have growing in my yard and let my cavys go to town on it or not.
Thanks!
