Hi everyone, I've been MIA for a while, I hope you and your pigs are all doing well. Between work, and helping my parents to take care of my grandfather, my time has been rather limited. My Pop-Pop had lived with us for several years because he had dementia and wasn't able to care for himself anymore. Sadly, he passed away this past July 22nd, after not eating or drinking for a month. We miss him of course, but his quality of life was extremely poor at the end, and although it's bittersweet we are glad he is at rest. He was on this earth for 91 years, which I believe is a testament to the fact that when he was well he was always active, he was a man of many talents, and I will always remember him for the wonderful skills he had.:love:

On to brighter news......We have new additions to our little herd. My mom now has 3 sows of her own. She bought 2 midwest cages and put them together to house 2 sows, but then I went and got her another one as part of her birthday present. Don't worry, they are far away from my boys who live upstairs, the girls are downstairs in the living room.

Firstly, there is "Cleo", a roan teddy, who is 3 months old now, then comes "Snickers Delight" who was actually given to mom along with Cleo, she is a beautiful brindle teddy who is 2 1/2 years old. Last but not least is little Sprite, a super fast little Abby, who is almost 2 months old, and lots of fun to watch darting all over.

Here are some pics of the new girlies:

Please welcome our new girls :). I will be posting more now that things have settled down :).

LISA!! :D Welcome back........we've missed you!

So sorry to learn of your Pop-Pop's passing, but it sounds as though he had a long and fulfilling life. My MIL passed within the past six months and yes, it was bittersweet as she had some dementia and her quality of life was diminishing. We miss her terribly!

Ah.....your Mom caught "cavy fever". How delightful for the two of you to have that shared passion. The "girls" are absolutely adorable.

We'll look forward to hearing more from you soon.

Welcome back, Lisa! So glad you're back!

The new additions are sooooooo adorable! Congratulations to you and your mom!

Thank you guys for the welcome back. Life is getting back to normal now, it will be good to have more time to spend reading the posts over here :)

@ spy9doc Sorry about your MIL :( Dementia is so cruel, it slowly strips the vibrant person you once knew to a mere shell of themselves. Wherever my grandfather is now, it most certainly has to be better than how he was barely existing here. <3

Thank you. BTW, What did you ever do about getting Mario a new friend? Was it the little silver agouti? You have a new avatar pic and I suspect so. How did the intros go and is Mario a good big brother? Details, details.....please.

Welcome back Lisa! Those new girls are absolutely adorable!

@ spydoc.........Yes we did end up with the little silver agouti although he's no so little now, he turned 6 months old yesterday and weighs in at 1022 grams. We named him Yoshi, he's so handsome and very active, it's hard to get pics of him cause he's always so busy puttering about. Intro's went great, we kept them together for several hours before putting them in the cage together. Mario was so happy to have a new buddy, he took to him right away like he was his little brother. Of course that's not to say there haven't been some normal piggy disagreements along the way, but it's all very minor, just re-establishing dominance and stuff. Yoshi just looks at Mario as if to say, take a chill pill, I'll let you "THINK" you're king of the castle, but we both know I can give as good as I get lol.

@spy9doc...... I just took this pic today, you can see how much Yoshi has grown, he's such a pleasant little pig, and reminds us of Luigi in so many ways.[GuineaPigCages.com] Life changes and new additions
