Licking

Is it normal for a guinea pig to lick people? Percy, one of our guinea pigs, likes to sit and lick my face when cuddled. None of the other ones do this.

Yes it's very normal and you'll find some do it more than others. My pig Bracken licks all the time on any bare skin she can find on her humans! My other pig, Bonnie, seems to use licking as a prerequisite to nibbling - she will take a lick to see if something is edible and then sink her teeth into it. She no longer does it on fingers, thankfully.

Mine lick me all the time. Some more than others.

Charlie licks my nose occasionally, and Tuppy licks my feet. Tuppy also has a tendancy to nibble people as if to check who they are!!

The other two never seem to lick anyone

Mu lick someone when he has to go potty. He will get barely get you wet untill he may really get you wet.
