Well, Legelas, and I spent a hot morning at the vet. (It's 108 here in hot AZ.)
He is perfectly healthy, except he has lice. It seems when we adopted Peppi, in April, he came with a present. The vet said it had to come from another pig.
It's my own fault. I took at word he was vet inspected. I did check him all over and did not see any nits. I still don't see any nits. Just on Legelas.
So the rest of the afternoon, has been spent really cleaning everything in the cage.
To make this short. Don't take anyones word and quarantine, quarantine, quarantine! I only quarantined Peppi for a very short time. I don't know if the nits would have shown up our not. Like I said I still don't see any nits on Peppi.
All 3 boys are being treated with Advantage. Maggie has not been in contact with the boys, so she is not being treated. The vet said she wouldn't treat her until the pups were born. I didn't take Maggie with me. The vet agreed it would be to stressful. She is prepared to see her if we run into any problems.
I had made copies of the papers of the GL site which I gave to the vet. She was so excited about the site. (I also gave her cavycages site.) She said she wanted to look into the sites and have good sites to give her patients as a reference on how to take care of GP's !
