Lettuce varieties

So who is up to date on lettuce variety names? Menards had a whole bunch of salad mix seed packets that I thought would be useful to plant in summer when the butter lettuce can't grow. Butter lettuce doesn't like warm temps so it's planted in spring and harvested in early summer and then planted again in the fall to harvest before winter.

Anyone know if these varieties have problems or are safe?
Packet 1:
Grand Rapids, Royal Oak Leaf, Salad Bowl, Red Salad Bowl, and Ruby
Packet 2:
Ruby, Red Salad Bowl, Green Ice, Paris White Cos, Royal Oak Leaf, Curled Chervil, and Arugula.

The only ones I know for sure without doing some research are the Chervil and Arugula. Chervil is a sort of oniony bitter herb, and arugula is a quite peppery lettuce. I wouldn't personally give either to my piggies. I believe Cos is another name for romaine. The others I'm in the dark on.

Off this site (broken link removed)
I found arugula is a cruciferous vegetable and high in calcium so I may see if I can seperate that out. If only I knew what an arugula seed looks like.

Still searching on the rest.

This link shows arugula seeds and tells about it.
Hope this helps.

Ok round seeds seperated from flat and long lettuce seeds. If chervil seeds are similar then I probably also removed those. It wasn't too hard but I doubt I can tell lettuce seeds apart so hopefully all the lettuces are fine.

If they are lettuces, you should be good to go as long as it's not iceberg, and I'm pretty positive none of those varieties were iceberg.

Royal Oak Leaf is fine too, it comes in many prepackaged lettuce mixes.

Ruby I would say it fine, it is one of Misty's favourite.

After looking through several sites I put together the varieties I've found so far and what type of lettuce they are. Stars are the ones I found were in the mixes I have.
