Let's get right down to it

Here is a link to info on cleaning the sac https://guinealynx.info/impaction.html

Iagosmom...sounds like you are off to a good start. When you pig is outside, please don't leave him unattended. Make sure he is in some sort of pen, has plenty of water, and no direct sun. Trust me, things can go bad very quickly when they are outside.

If you really want to see your pigs real personality come out, get him a friend. WHat a difference you will see in him. It is not much more expensive and takes no more time to take care of.

EDIT: Ly, ya beat me to it.

Originally posted by cool-crazy-cavy: Personally, I found fleece to be awkward, as any stray pieces of hay stick to it, and it isn't the easiest fabric to sweep hay and poops off! Also, with piggies that moult (sp?), it is very difficult to get the hair off the fleece.

Guinea pigs don't moult. They shed and sometime they shed more at times during a year depending on where they live. Moulting is what crabs and stuff like that do when they need to shed their ecoskeleton (the outside part of their body) and them become pink and very tender.

Wow,
I've just learned something new today, neutered males rarely experience impaction. Now, isn't that another incentive to adopt an altered boy!
