I moved the girls from the "pet room" (them and a fish) into the living room so we would see them more, but ever since I did they've been laying down crooked. I know they can lay down, that's how they sleep, but is it normal for them to randomly lay down in the open and lounge there? They seem super comfy, and it was hard to get a pic because whenever I'd go towards the cage they'd stand up, and they wouldn't do it while I'm near the cage. I guess I've never seen them lay down before? Is this a normal way to lay down? Is it normal for them to lay down in the open? Image

First, your piggies are super adorable! Is one a teddy? Laying out in the open is a great sign, as it means they are very comfortable and relaxed. My teddy, Paisley, loves to plop down out in the open and it's the cutest thing!

It's definitely normal. I have one pig who will lay right out in the middle of the cage on her side, head down with her legs all sticking out and her eyes wide open. The first few times I saw it she gave me quite the scare but she's just sleeping.

Yes, both are baby (4 month old) teddies, and I was hoping that was the case. I had seen them laying on their bellies, just never lopsided like that. They also didn't ever lay in the open until I moved them. So I didn't know if it was a sign of discomfort or exhaustion. I'm glad I'm just being a worry wart
