ok i have a c&c cage put it has no top yet but i have a ferret that has gotten in 2-tims and tried to kill my cavy and do i need some way to make a strong top for it so he will not hirt my pig thanks.

Oh, no!!! Please find something to put over as a temporary top just for now. Use something like a towel or sheet, and keep the ferret away if possible--shut off the room.

To make a top, you can either use cubes that are cable-tied together, or you can use organizational shelving. Look on the photo pages for instructions.

Please also get your cavy a friend. They are social animals and need to be housed in pairs. See www.cavyspirit.com/sociallife.htm for more info.

Thats not good at all. Yeah I agree with Mn.

o thats aweful, just make sure you get soemthing set up temperary, soon

mn, exactly what I was going to say

Any news? You should get that up as soon as you possibly can, good luck!

Thanks for backing me up, Tina and Angel!

no problem, you said exactly what i was going to say

just wonderin if all of this worked out?...

can the ferret fit between the grid squares? maybe thats how he got in.

can ferrets squish like that, if so you may need to double up the grids, I've seen at least one cage in the photo gallery.

That's a good point. If there's no top, they can still get in though.

Sue, any update, please?

o that is terrble put a bin over it with something heavy or close off the room imediatly. That is horrible.

i agree with everybody so far, but do something right now so that the ferret cannot do anything, and do something so they don't even see each other, preferably, and after you have your right now situation set up, set up something more permenant, i would net ever even let the ferret in the room, and i would still have a firmly attached and shut lid, and double grids, and never ever leave the door open.

um its a bit late for something "right now" this was posted amost a month ago, the person who created hasnt replied back so I assume one of our suggestions worked, just pointing that out.

oopps, I did not even look I feel so stubid

lol its ok, just pointing it out

I wonder if suepoo ever got keeping her feeret out of the cage under control.
