I'm just wondering if anyone can give me a few tips on how i should begin taming my pig. I've had him for about two weeks now and he seems to be really jittery still. For the past few days ive been taking him out of his cage and letting him roam around the room, and any time I go near him or make a sudden move he runs straight for the corner. He seem's pretty healthy cause lastnight when i let him out he ran all over the room like a maniac.
So i'm just hoping someone can give me a few tips on getting him used to me and it's environment.
Thanks, CASPER

I am at my computer quite a bit, which is in my bedroom, and my pigs cage is next to my PC. He came from a shelter but was very friendly from the start and warmed up to me right away. Maybe if you have your pig in a place where you are a lot, it will help him get used to you. Just an idea

Pigs are notoriously hard to catch. None of mine tolerate being picked up. However, they settle down when I pet them in my lap.

Pigs are prey animals, so their reaction is to split when you make a move, it's normal. Try offering veggies by hand to your pig everytime you go see him, that should make him warm up fast.

thanks for the replies. He seems to be doing exactly what slap_maxwell was saying, so i'll just start giving it more attention and feeding it vegies from the hand like you suggested.

Thanks again,
CASPER
