whenever I hold my guinea pig called Cookie he always jumps out of my hands, and whenever I troke his nose he allways fliks his nose in the air. are these things normall?

No, that's not normal. Guinea pigs should not jump out of your arms, and flicking his nose in the air MAY mean that he's annoyed... I'm not too sure about that. But your pig should be calm enough to just lay in your arms. How long have you had him?

I have had him for about 6 weeks.

Hm... Just wrap him up in a towel/fleece when you hold him and always sit down. Does he let you touch him at all? Does he scream?

he lets me stroke him without screaming but after a couple of minutes he jumps out of my hands!

Just make sure that he can't jump out at all, totally secure him in a towel or cozy. It is bad if a guinea pig jumps far, since they have such fragile bodies.

thankyou so much for giving mre the information on putting a towel over him. I did that about 2 minutes ago and it worked like a treat. thanks!

No promblemo" even though I did not do anything".

The head tossing does mean that he's annoyed.

It does, my piggies never do it they just popcorn and make the put-put noises. Once Coco popcorned into the grid wall luckely she did not get hurt!

My pig puts his nose up into the air when I pet him but he definitely doesn't look annoyed. It's almost like he's pressing his nose into my hand, not trying to get away. He seems to like it and will sit there nosing my hand while I pet him for ages.

Mine definitley do it when they are frustrated. If I go near their faces too much they head but my hand

My girls put their noses in the air and tap my hand when I stop petting and stop doing it when I start petting again.

My piggies fling their heads up in the air to let me know stop petting my head. I am very fortunate to have 2 girls who enjoy just sitting on my lap without fussing while I pet them. Its a joy. Once I catch them though.

Unless it is so bad you think she has mites or something, I wouldn't worry about it. Your pig sounds a lot like Jane, who is an antisocial princess, and is obviously more dramatic than uncomfortable or afraid. She has casually strolled off a two foot drop to get to veggies or a cardboard box; I can't put her on the sofa without someone doing suicide watch for me.
