Jumping on back

I have two male pigs that have been together since last March. Why all of a sudden would one male be climbing onto the back of the other and distressing him?

That is typical dominance behavior and is nothing to worry about.

It is the non-dominant pig doing it though. He is jumping the bully. This is totally new behavior.

Your pigs could be reevaluating who is the dominant pig. Maybe your submissive pig was tired of being picked on. Unless someone is getting hurt, leave them be.

Watch them carefully. If any blood is shed or they begin fighting, seperate them.

My girls go through a humping phase for a couple days after I do a full-clean (complete with cleaning the coroplast). It's the last thing that happens before things go back to "business as normal." Just re-asserting their dominance, and, as long as they don't actually get violent, it isn't something to worry about.
