Joy of pigs

HI everybody! I have not posted in a while. I just wanted to share the joy of the piggies. I can not tell you how happy I am with being a new cavy friend. My two piggs have brought my family bundles of joy, laughs and cuddles. I have never been happier with any other pet!

I never tire from watching them even if its only eating their food. Something about them is mesmorizing.

I too enjoy and love my piggies. There is just nothing like them!

I just started working again, after five years at home with the kids, and adjusting to life's schedule with little kids, work, etc. has not left a lot of free time. I've made a real effort the last few week or so to have lap time with the piggies everyday, and last night Louis quickly settled down, stretched out and purred. It was so nice! (Acorn has rmained out neurotic little furball -- he stays flattened against your belly with his eyes bugging out of his head and stiff as a board -- but he's young so I'll still hold out hope.)

Ahhh, pigs! I'm smitten with my girls. Whenever I think of them and their furry little faces I start grinning like an idiot. That's love! Love isn't always pretty, though. Have you ever found yourself spending way too much time browsing the produce at your local market because you're trying to remember what the pigs love/hate and what they haven't tried yet? *sigh*

How about if your out of something important for your family, lets say milk or something for dinner and you have to go to the store but you are so lazy you decide, forget it I'll go tomorrow and we'll eat egg sandwiches instead, but your piggy is out of cilantro and they love that so you run to the store like an idiot. For you piggy you go, for your family, they can wait.

I have SO done that! Mom was cooking dinner, and used the last of Percy's cilantro and half of the red bell pepper that I hadn't had a chance to cut up and put in his pepper container yet. I ran out to get more veggies and told Mom that if this continued, I was going to buy a dorm fridge and put it upstairs for his stuff!

Same. I love just watching them. They're so dense...its too cute to watch.

I cant believe people think guinea pigs are boring and not as 'good' as cats and dogs.

And how come you're allowed to be obsessed with your cat, but not with your pig?

I so agree with everything said! When I try to explain the joys of my piggies with friends/colleagues they look at me like I'm nuts. If someone refers to them as "your hamsters" I get highly insulted. I try to explain how personable and loving piggies are but no one gets it. I also feel that they are the best pets to have and I cannot imagine not having them. They make me smile all the time - even when I'm cleaning the poops out of their cages.

Yeah, carrotflavour, about the cat thing...same with dogs! People carry their dogs around in purses, but when someone has a guinea pig..."Ew a rodent!" When my dad calls my pig a hamster, it insults me too, mom to cujo!

Guinea pigs are so small, yet absolutely perfect, kind, and forgiving. I'll have the worst day ever, and I come home and lay on my bed. Then Queen pops out of her pigloo and looks at me with that cute little face, and I can't be mad at anyone anymore. In my opinion, pigs are the best pet and companion anyone could ever have. ^_^

Everyone at work thinks I'm nuts! Animals, piggies, thats all I care about. If I go on the computor it's always this site or an animal site. I get made fun of all the time. Do I care? Not at all. Animals and my piggies are my passion. Do I have any money? No, it all goes to my animals. I go to the market everyday for my veggies. The lady at the checkout knows me and my animals. She loves to talk to me about them.
when our ferret was sick and could/would only eat babyfood chicken, I bought out the store ( silly ferret would only eat Beach Nut. No other brand.) Are we slaves? You
