Oh gosh, I wish I'd checked this thread earlier - your piggies are gorgeous and it's great to see the shots of Thistle Cavies. When we were waiting for Brie and Frisky while another adopter was getting their pigs we were in that huge shed which I'm guessing is all boars? There were some huge piggers in there and it planted the seed in my mind that we could always take on a neutered boar at some point to have his own little harem =D

Wendi does an amazing job and I'm jealous that you two got to spend some time with all the piggies, once I've got my driving license and a car I'd love to help out there sometime. And I can definitely vouch for the pigwams, my girls absolutely love them

Thalestral, the pic. of Brie on the Thistle rehoming page really reminds me of Emm! If Brie and Frisky originated from the Big Rescue - then I reckon they are related! Give us a shout when you get your license, and we can all meet up and help for a day! :cheerful:

It was impossible to tell what would happen to her coat when she was little, but looking at that last pic she looks like a picture-perfect sheltie. You MUST send those pics to Wendi, she will be so chuffed to see how she has turned out!

Nope. The ones with bone density problems are satins. Shelties are basically peruvians with the hair swept back from the face - they are known as silkies in North America, shelties in the UK.

Jane the new girls are simply divine!! I love the way the silver just shines through as a hint in Mellow's part down her back. Or was that the flash?

Yup Judy - that was just the flash! If you look closely at the second picture, you can see the single strands of grey. She has some buff in her too - and on trimming her bott, discovered a neat little ginger bottom -rainbow!

The finnished result! Don't be fooled by the pigture of innocence - Mellow left a large puddle behind her - on my downie!

Mary couldn't get enough of the Posh 'n' Go scent!

For a couple of days after her bath, Mellow wore a trendy 'flick'!

Her hair is still looking and feeling beautifully conditioned a week later! It has settled down - the waves have gone - but she still looks great!

Here is a pigture of Mellow taken today. Not only does it show the condition of her hair - a week on (before brushing), but it is the first picture which really shows the gray and tan strands in her hair.

It has been a long while since I updated this thread - and I have a few more pics to add!

The 4 Ms are doing great - Marble, Mellow and Emm are all growing up - we have a few rumbley moments, but all in all, they get on great as a herd!

A couple of weekends ago, we had some super warm weather. I sat outside quite comfortably in T-shirt and shorts (don't worry - the pics are not of me!), so set up Mary and Marble's old pen for some outdoor fun in the sun!

Mellow is first to set foot on the fresh green grass!

Your babies look like they are just loving the sunny weather! Mellow has the most beautiful hair and just a kissably-cute face! What a sweetie. I have to admit to falling in love with Marble though. I'm a sucker for pink noses & piggy lips! Your trip to Thistle has inspired me. I am going to have to see if there are any cavy rescues close to my home and see if they need help. Just looking after my two boars is work enough, I can't imagine how exhausting it is to take care of so many cavies at one time. Thanks for all the lovely pictures Jarbax!

I am so pleased you love Marble too, Ivy! Mellow gets a lot of attention, being so lusciously locked, it's really nice for one of the others to bask in the glow of admiration - I told Marble what you said - and I swear that she smiled! :cheerful:
