General Ivermectin question

so I got my 2 new pigs from a kijiji ad on Thursday. I noticed Friday that they have lice.
i have a vet appt on Tuesday but I found some ivermectin at our local horse and tack. Is is Ivermectin Liquid for horses. It appears to be an oral liquid. Can I apply it topically instead for the lice?

Please let me know ASAP as I want to get rid of these like yesterday!

I believe it can be used that way, but it will require a LOT of dilution. What is the strength of the ivermectin you found?

It's the 1% 10mg/mL. I get so confused reading the GL page. What and how do you dilute it? How do you measure it in the syringe? My syringe goes by mL and the dose I need is .0134.
Lets say I sucked at math.

I wouldn't use it. Oral pastes are meant to get into the animals system so when a parasite bites in to the skin it will get a dose of the active ingredient from the blood and skin, the spot on works by leaving a residual dose of the active ingredient on the animals skin. I doubt that it would work in the same way. Plus, horse paste would be far too concentrated for a guinea pig that could easily be a thousand times smaller than a horse. I would also think that it will be very expensive compared to the small animal dose.

But its a liquid and not a paste. It was $7 for a single dose tube. It's a 15 mL tube.

edit to add: it's in a syringe with mL markings on the plunger. It says each ml is good for 50kg. My pig is 677g.

A sorry, I got a little confused. when. j use ivermectin for horses I normally have to use the paste. The liquid works in a similar way, but it can be injected. Also if you only need 1/100 of a ml you are going to have a hard time finding a small enough syringe that doesn't have a needle.

So I used to oral dilution chart on GL. 9mL water to 1mL ivermectin and put the .0134 behind his ear. Is that ok? Will it work as a topical? Do you dilute if it's topical, it only showed dilution for oral.
