I was told I could feed my piggers Cat grass but have a hard time finding it but was recently told you could also feed them cat nip..I have heard about it but never thought a guinea pig could eat it and it be ok. Could anyone clarify this for me? I know my boy loves grass if I bring some in from outside but gets very protective of it once its anywhere near him,he would bite u from a mile away if u came near it lol.But since my place is dry and plants dont live well(electric heat) the idea of cat nip would be awesome since its already dry.

I'm guessing no on the catnip. I've never heard of anyone feeding it to a guinea pig. It's definitely not a substitute for long-strand grass or hay.

My boy gets lots of hay and in the summer we bring him in grass from the backyard.I wouldnt use it as a substitute but as a treat. I read in another forum about the catnip but now cant find it. It did say they could have it but not sure on the amounts or how many times or if it could be daily. I looked on the internet but again just ppl posting things but nothing I would trust.
