Actually i did because i picked my girls up from a local petstore called petsaver. And i dont want a boar because of the impaction issue, and they have a local vet clinic in petsaver were i saw my pigs get checked out. So im happy with my choice.

Yea okay i did lie right their but like i said why wouldn't i buy from a shelter or rescue? If they actually had guinea pigs i would of did it in a heartbeat. Then i would be giving them a great home and saving their life's. But after all of the websites i looked at, and the shelters i called, only one place had 1 pig and it was a male. I have already mentioned it. And they would be cheaper then a pet store, so its not like im supporting the pet store. I just want a pair of lovely girl guinea pigs. And the petstore i got them from only had one liter of guiena pigs and it was there first liter ever. I know that because its a local place and she said the breeder was done and they had all the pets checked because it has a built in vet store. So both my pig's are healthy as can be =D

As I mentioned to you at the time you started complaining that the MULTIPLE shelters around you had no pigs, they VERY frequently do, which I know for a fact because I live near you. (Lollypop alone had TWELVE recently.) And Craigslist near you has pigs virtually constantly.

As far as I am aware there is no such thing as an emergency situation requiring someone to obtain a pair of female guinea pigs immediately. Care to explain why it was that not supporting breeders and pet stores isn't important enough for you to exercise even a few days or weeks' worth of patience?

Your comment about you not supporting pet stores is nonsensical. You did exactly that by buying your pigs there - it doesn't matter one bit that they charge less than the rehoming fee at the local shelters. And even if we are to believe the fairy tale that your pet store told you about them being the first ever pigs sold there, your actions have encouraged them to make it not the last.

So im happy with my choice.
Well, good for you. I'm really glad you're able to be happy about a choice that you made for purely selfish reasons and that instead of helping a homeless pig or pigs, you've actually done your part to create more, and ensure that there will be another pig bred to replace the females you just positively had to have right this instant. What a wonderful thing you've done, helping to ensure the already tremendous overpopulation problem just goes on and on.

It's particularly outstanding in your case, because you had considered actually adopting homeless pigs but decided the pet store is the way to go, AND because you have so many options for adoption in your area. Yeah, you rock.

People who lie on internet forums, usually end up tripping themselves up and getting caught in their lies. You could have simply said you got your pigs from a petstore instead of making an elaborate story about getting them from a shelter. We really don't appreciate being lied to. No one hates you but we are rather disappointed in the choice that you made and upset that you chose to lie about it.

Also people establish their reputation on forums and lying about things does not give one a very good reputation.

I will be editing the title of the thread.

Change my thread? Can i have a reason please? And yea i guess i did support a pet store. And i have been looking for a pair of guinea pigs months before i have been on this website. And lollypop farm had none i went to the greece mall with my friends and she looked and they had a guy who was over 4yrs old. At least im not a person who buys guinea pigs and cooks them and feeds them to snakes? You should be after them people, not a person who wants a pair of guinea pigs to have a life they never had. But keep hating, this forum blows and ill just look at posts since pretty much everyone here is a stupid hater because i bought guinea pigs at a store. why dont u lynch me while ur at it.

Just a guess that your thread's name was changed because it was a lie before.

I don't think "hating" means what you think it means.

I'm officially thrilled you didn't cook your pet store cavy. Or feed it to a snake. (It would be really dumb to cook a cavy to feed it to a snake.)

I don't see anything wrong with changing the title of the thread. The original title was "Is this normal for rescue?" changed to "Is this normal?" since you didn't get you pig from a rescue. What's the big deal with the title change?

The title was changed because as you posed the question ("Is this normal from a rescue?") was inappropriate because your story about getting a pig from a rescue was a big fat lie. Is that reason satisfactory for you?
