Urine Is this normal? Redish brown urine

I was feeding my pigs and saw that one had urinated on the newspaper. Here is a picture. It is redish brown. They are acting normal. I feed them unlimited timothy hay and water. 1/8 cup of normal pellets and 1 cup of veggies. I babycarrot and leaf of romaine lettuce daily per pig. I dont know whos urine it is. Is this normal?

The picture is fine.

Urine can be different colors depending on what the pig has eaten, and on oxidation. Normal pig urine will usually oxidize to sort of an orangish color, while bloody urine dries to brown.

In your case, however, the ink on the newspaper may have affected the color. I'd take all the newspaper out and put white towels down until you figure out if there's a problem. As always, watch them carefully for any signs of pain while peeing. Also, if you see them pee, check the urine immediately. If it's bloody, it'll show up then. If it's clear and later oxidizes to a darker color, there's no problem.

Thanks. Ill put in white towels and check for signs of blood in the urine. I just want to make sure it wasn't an immediate call to the vet. Ill watch them. They have been active and happy, but guinea pigs are good at hiding pain so ill watch.
