I brought my guinea pigs home from the school about a week ago, and both have been fine and totally normal. I noticed today during floor time that my adult boar had soft poops. It wasn't like diarrhea or anything, but they weren't like normal. They're fed alfalfa-based pellets and have free choice alfalfa hay, because the other piggie is a two month old boar.
Do you think it could be stress or something more?

Also, is it okay to give them regular potatoes?

No on the potatoes. If you have an adult and baby together, I believe you should mix the pellets and hay to 50/50 alfalfa and timothy.

When I switched to Oxbow Cavy Performance, my pigs had softer poo's for a few days...it cleared up though.

I'll pick up some timothy hay and pellets to mix with the alfalfa stuff as soon as I can get to the store again.

Thank you, Turbo.

What kind of veggies do they get?

Potatoes are toxic to piggies but sweet potatoes/yams are fine to give in small amounts.
