Bedding Is scented bedding okay?

I don't really know a lot about what is good for piggys or not, and while in the pet store I saw some bedding that said it was lavender scented. I was wondering if this is bad for piggys because of the strong smell, etc. I didn't buy it, but I want to be sure.

I have purchased bedding before that claimed to have a scent and I was skeptical also but the odor was barely noticeable to me. It was just a light, fresh smell. What brand was it? Mine was carefresh. I could not smell anything through the package and like I said when I opened it up there was a faint scent. My girls had no issues with it.

I'd avoid anything that says its scented. Cats, for example, use their cat boxes and immediately leave, so if their litter is scented, they're only on it for a very few minutes out of the day. Guinea pigs, on the other hand, have their noses one inch from their bedding ALL the time.

Additionally, there are some questions about how safe lavender is. It's not recommended for children's shampoos, for instance, so I'd for sure avoid anything with a lavender scent.

I didn?t know that lavender scents were questionable when it comes to safety. Glad to learn that.

And apparently I was mistaken. I just looked at my order history for bedding from chewy and I have not ordered scented bedding before. It was just superior odor control.

I am so sorry. Apparently my initial response was inaccurate. I thought that my bedding was lightly scented but it was actually just advertising superior odor control. I apologize for my inaccurate response and I am sorry if I caused any confusion.
