Pregnancy Is my piggie pregnant?

She'll be fine. I watched and watched my girl, counting down the days and I knew the day of conception because my male only got out that one day because she was in heat. Theres a big difference in the gestation time so I was home for a long weekend thinking that would be the perfect time as I had extra days off, would be here and could help if there was a problem. NOPE, she waited until the first day I went back and had them then!! Stinker!

She gave birth tonight! Three very pretty babies. I will post pictures tomorrow. The first one came around 10:37 the second around 11:15 and the third about 11:18. When the third one came I picked up the second on and cleaned him off because she wasn't cleaning him anymore. We changed the bedding and they are now all sleeping comfortably.

www.cavyspirit.com/sexing.htm. It can be hard to do when they're very young, but by the time a couple of weeks have gone by, it should be more apparent. Just remember that the acid test of a male is getting the penis to extrude.

The way I was able to tell the difference between my baby piglets' sexes was that, even though they both have little nubs, the males have a tiny dot where the females don't. If you have all the same sex you don't have anything to compare them to though, so it would be harder.
