Sounds Is my Guinea Pig ok?

Sometimes, George makes a weird sound when he breathes. Not like a wheeze, he just sounds like he has a bit of a clogged nose. He's acting perfectly fine, and it usually clears up when he sneezes. I do give him a lot of Timothy Hay, so it could be just some grains got stuck? Just want to make sure he doesn't have any heath issues. Thanks!

Is there a lot of dust? My piggies had that problem and then i got them a new set up such as a loft kitchen and now they have stopped. Mine had a lot of dust and they love laying in it.

I think as a precaution you could take him in for a checkup.

I don't think that warrants a vet visit.

Is the hay dusty? If so, try to get some greener, fresher hay. The other thing you can do, but it takes a lot more work and commitment, is to wash the hay under running water. But you have to spread it somewhere that it dry quickly and not mold, or else you'll have much bigger problems that an occasional sneeze.

If not, have you tried another hay to make sure he's not allergic? Timothy is the hay that causes the most allergies. But you could try orchard grass or meadow grass and see if he tolerates them better.

Yes, the hay I give him is pretty dusty. I'm trying a new brand, so far so good
