Behavior Is it Ok if....

I sometimes take the hidey house off my guinea pig Twix while he is sitting in it so I can get to know him more and pet him??...He really seems to be warming up to me, but is in the hidey house alot....Sometimes the only way to really pet him, without picking him up, is to to do this..
Will this stress him more?
He is doing great...I have him almost a week now..As you now he was on Meds at Petco, but nose is clear, he looks good to me, and is eating all the veggies Ive been giving him morning and night...
