I took my first boar to the vet and he was in excellent shape. The vet said I have been doing really good with him, so I am excited! Well, I got my second one and took him to the vet and they said he was good too. When I got home I set up the introduction. They never fought once. The new one, Snickers, actually is in charge I believe. The new one will rumble strut in front of Buddy and then pounce him. My question is, how long with this "mating" last. Is it normal for two boars to do that a lot? When they actually cage together is Snickers going to pounce poor Buddy all the time? (Snickers wont let Buddy pounce him.) Anyway, they never fought once and they were together for a little over an hour. Is that a great sign that I can put them together soon?? Also, when I do put them in the C&C cage together should I separate them when I leave just to make sure they are truly getting along??

Read Guinea Pigs Social Life -- the Introductions section is about halfway down.

You should not put them together in the cage until you have plenty of time to observe how they're getting along. And once together, they shouldn't be separated unless there's bloodshed.
