introductions

I got a new little girl for my girl. I wanted her to have a friend. I have waited for the manditory quentine period, and taken her to the vet. i have been told that she is a healthy pig. Now i want to introduce them. I did the introduction last night. All went well. They got aquianted with eacher other and seemed happy. I was wondering, How do you know when its ok to put the two pigs together in a single cage? I belive they have figured out the "top dog" and seem to like to be together. I have their cages close to eachother and they like to talk with eachother through the bars. I cant wait for them to be able to live together. Oh and i have had them checked both are females. Thanks in advance.

Re: introductions

I don't think there are really any rules, put them together when you think their ready. I have 5 sows who all got along pretty much straight away too .

Re: introductions

After the quarentine you can put them together in a cage suitable for 2. Just watch for any fights and don't seperate unless there is any bloodshed. If you remove and reintroduce you might confuse them.

Re: introductions

Thanks. I ordered the coroplast today, and my dad should be picking it up tomorrow. Then i can put them in the new cage together.
