I'm so glad to hear that you got everything! Pop Rocks are one of my favorites too, and they seemed SO American that I couldn't help but include a couple packets for you. Who else but crazy Americans would think to make a candy that explodes in your mouth!?

Sounds like your move went well and you're getting settled in. I can't wait to see you on more often!

I cannot believe I did not think of Pop Rocks!!!!!!

I'm so glad my package finally got to you, Daft! Hooray! And please don't tell anyone how much I spent on shipping. I told you - I got totally carried away. It was just so much fun, picking out candy. YOu can tell how much I like junk food, by how much candy I picked out. :) (And don't worry about sending me anything else - I do everything to excess.)

I'm glad your move went well - I , too, will be happy to see you online more often.

Hooray Lorna - you'll be back soon!

I remember what we used to call 'space dust' - which exploded in your mouth - or between your teeth - or half way down your throat if you swallowed too soon! Marvelous stuff (though dread to think what was in it!) Haven't seen any over here for years - though 'Wham' bars were ridiculously sweet chewy pink bars which had some popping stuff in them (haven't seen them around either).

It sounds like everyone's enjoying their sweets! Alas, I am under the age limit, or I'd love to take part next time.

What about those Willy Wonka (?? I think...I seem to remember??) bars they used to have in the UK. I haven't seen them recently, but they were chocolate with bits in that snapped in your mouth. They were yummy :D

They were fun but all the Willy Wonka range was made by Nestle, so I couldn't buy it. :guilty:

We do have Nestle, but I don't buy their products because of the way they break the World Health Organisation code on marketing formula milk to mothers in the developing world, and keep on doing so in spite of repeatedly being told to stop. Th campaign has been going on for some time but this article from Tuesday's Guardian newspaper gives more detail

OH my lord!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am in candy heaven. Or hell since I am only limited to a few bites at a time (for those of you who don't know I had Lap-band surgery in Feb so I can only eat a very little bit at a time). But I did manage to get in a tiny bite of everything before I was to stuffed to continue. Yeah I am not much for waiting, I just had to try everything. I loved, loved, loved the mint cake and honeycomb candy. The honeycomb candy sort of reminded me of the tasted of burned toasted marshmallows which I love. The coconut things were delicious as well. Heck everything was awesome! The kids loved it too. I figured I would share since they were the ones to find the package. I really hope you get your stuff soon! The Saunders hot fudge is definitly my favorite thing I sent you.

Honeycomb candy? That sounds yummy. Daft - you'll have to tell me what your favorite thing was.

Mine (from Daft) was definitely the taffy/carmel stuff. Yum.

Wow, that was quick! (after a series of disagreements with a very fussy postmistress I had to drive to another post office and only sent it on Thursday). I came home today to find a card saying that an international parcel was waiting for me at the sorting office so I'm looking forward to tomorrow (the children will be at school when I collect it, so do I wait and share or do I just begin to explore?).

Those giant jelly beans are absolutely amazing!!

Can't say I'm going to eat the tequila lolly, though! Eek!

Yeah, those tequila l ollypops are pretty gross, with the worm and all. But tourists love them for some reason. :)

We've had a very exciting time - thank you BabyGrl. It's interesting to see just how different sweeties are in another country. Hershey's chocolate tastes totally different to UK chocolate and I've never tasted anything like those wafer candies.

I loved the peanut butter cups and I guess one big difference is that so much US candy is peanut based. With the rise in allergies lots of companies are making sure that lots of their products are nut-free and loads of primary schools are now telling children not to bring in any sort of nut based snacks. We do get Ferrero Rocher and Tic Tacs in the UK and we have M&Ms too but an American friend is always complaining that M&Ms here don't taste quite the same and I know now what she means. I don't think I can bring myself to eat the marshmallow chicks though as they just look much too cute!

I am laughing about the pens. I totally forgot I shoved those in there at the last minute! They are from the company I work for in case you wondered "what the heck?" HAHA

Peeps are great. If you don't want to eat them stick em in the microwave and nuke em. They grow into these huge massive blobs. My kids love doing it.
