My poor pig got hurt! I was putting him back into his cage (approaching it) when he literally leaped out of my arms (I had him what I thought was securely). The fellow landed on my carpet but appears to have hurt his top teeth. I'm worried that the two top ones might fall out, (they are somewhat loose). So far they are still in his head. I have absoutely no money to go to a vet, so that is out of the question at this point.

Any advice about the pig? Should I not give him anything overly crunchy?

will his teeth go back to normal in a couple of days?

my friends piggie chipped half of his front teeth off and they grew back just mush his food smaller and give him easy to chew veggies

I'm sorry that happened. Sometimes they just get too wiggly!

He should be fine. Just make sure non of his limbs are injured.

I don't think you will need to alter his diet. GPs chew their hay with their back teeth. If he manages to bite something that causes his front teeth to break all the way off still don't worry too much. They would have come out anyway. They will grow back quickly. Keep an eye on his lower teeth so that they don't get too long while the upper teeth grow back in. If they do you will need to take him in to get them trimmed.

There is a chance that they are just loose, not broken. They will normally firm up again on their own.

Of course it is best to make an appointment with a vet just to be sure...but i don't think this is a huge emergency. It can probably wait a day or so.

To make him more comfortable cut up his veggies into small pieces for him so he can just pick them up and transfer them to the back of his mouth.

Keep us updated.

I'm sorry. I hope his teeth get better- just make sure oto cut his veggies smaller, so he can get them to the back of his mouth, like voodoo said.

Something similar happened to Turbo a few weeks after we got him. I was approaching his cage with him and just as I loosened my grip to put him in, he leaped out of my hands and hit his face on the second level of the cage. I felt HORRIBLE. But he was fine as far as I could tell. I never checked his teeth though...hmm.
