Information That you should know

My lil felecia passed away on Sunday due to a intestinal blockage. I always thought she proably had something wrong with her intestine but the vet says nothing is wrong.

Why I thought that
1. Felecia had a sore abdomen and her intestine looked like it was more sticking out. She always hated to be touched there but the vet always rude that as a senstive spot.

2. She had tons of gas.

3. She had her first bloat that made her not poop, drink, eat, or pee. Which was a year ago from thanksgiving they did a x ray on her found out she had bloat sucked the air out of her tummy it stunk so they said she was having too much gas and so she was just fine. Pooping and Peeing up a storm, eating and drinking.

4. She was a heavy drinker and she passed away due to lot of water in her tummy that wouldn't go down. So if you see any of your guinea pigs excessive drink make sure you get her/him checked out for blockage because water that can't go down cause bloat and be very toxic!

The only way you will know of blockage have your guinea pig get a barium x ray!

Thank You

This is a very helpful information for cavy owners, I might re-post this on "General Chat" for it to be read by more, I'll just say there that this was by you.
