I'm sick with a cold and I'm wondering if handling my guinea pig is safe to do. My symtoms are sneezing, stuffy runny nose, and I'm lethargic. I'm just curious to know if I'll pass on these symtoms to him.

Keep your hands well washed and all should be fine. Feel better soon !

Well..I'm no expert, but when I'm sick, I still handle my piggies, as long as you wash you hands before and after holding them, or any other small animal. As long as your careful, I think it will be alright, but keep posting!
And I'm sorry to say that your sick, hope you get well soon and keep in touch!
Give give your piggie pig pig a big hello for me!

Thanks for letting me post,
Luna

I will, thanks.

I was sick with a common cold and my vet told me it was OK to handle Poppy!

Bacterial infections are contagious. Viruses are not. If you cough or sneeze in the vicinity of the guinea pigs while having a bacterial infection it can be transmitted to them. Sometimes you just don't know so aside from thorough hand washing, I'd try not to cough or sneeze around them.
