I'm not happy.

I completely rebuilt my pigs' cage and now it's SMALLER than before. It was a 3x4, now it's only 2x4 for four pigs. At least it has legs now - it's standing on two boxes. And it has a floor, so I can move it. But I'm not altogether happy, and my pigs aren't either. Everybody's mobbing Sydney, and she can't get away. I'll make a second floor tomorrow.

Why did you change it? Maybe you could make a big upper level that it hangs over the side or something.

I wanted to rebuild it because 1. I wanted to use the cool new grids as a floor, 2. it needed cleaning anyway and 3. I wanted to put it on legs so I could store my pigs' stuff under it and have more space in my livingroom. Now I have several small grids (not the cubes) left, and I'm already scheming and plotting what to do with them. I'll keep you updated.

Well it looks GREAT! Is that a little doggy bed in the corner? And the big basket thing is so cool!!! Did you make it or buy it? And your pigs are so cute!!! I have to get some hay... Or maybe I should just buy the Alfalfa and Fruit Food Mix... I'M TALKIN TO MYSELF NOW!!!

The basket is a cat carrier basket, I just removed the door. My pigs love it and take turns sleeping in it. The striped thing is a towel draped over two bent grids so it makes a nice tunnel. I haven't found a dog bed for my pigs yet... they're all too expensive.

It is a nice setup with all the toys/accesories you have in there but it is a little small in there for four piggies. They are really cute though!

Is anyone ever really satisfied with their cage? I've not had the cage a month yet and I'm rearranging the stuff in it and adding stuff and shaking up those poor pigs lives. Bah.. I'll get it right in the end I'm sure you will too Teria. Next project: Buy more grids this weekend for a better full length stand and reclaim my coffee table.

My cage is really messy all the time. It's a store bought cage and when I go to clean it the gunk is left on the bottom (he he...BOTTOM!) of the tray.

I'm really satified with my cage. I don't have that many accessories (they never really use their hidey houses all that much or anything) so I only move a couple things every few days. They don't care, they like having a big open space.

I wish I could buy more grids! As it is, I just thought of a way to get the old 3x4 size back without changing too much - I'll simply use the PVC-covered wall as a floor and add another long grid as a wall. I still have enough small grids to close the cage then, PLUS an extra grid for the second floor which will effectively make it a 4x4 without using up my entire room. *cheers*

Hey, does anyone know what type of plant has long leaves with white down the middle of them? I saw spencer chewing on them (don't ask) and I'm just asking if its safe. He's been going about his normal day so far.

It sounds like a spider plant to me too, but I do not know if they are safe for him to be chewing on. I would put it out of his reach and monitor him to be safe.
