The last few months have sucked for me... I got laid off in Jan, my Grandfather passed in mid April, my Mom passed in mid May and a great uncle passed in June. I have had depression for more then half my life and this was all too much and the care of my animals among many other things fell short. I asked my husband to help and make sure all the small animals were fed and watered, he said he would and didn't and that's what happened to Elvis. By the time I saw he needed water it was too late, he had chewed a hole in his bottle so he ran out too fast.
After that I made sure the small animals had food and water every day and even set up pens outside so they could be out on nice days with me when I was gardening. Today I went into the small animal room to feed and water and found Delilah had passed on, I don't know what happened, she was acting fine yesterday when I went in to feed. She was only about 2 years old but wasn't the same after Elvis passed in early June, I rescued them together and they were always close(in side by side cages) I think she missed him terribly even though she lived with their daughter. I was in the process of building them a large cage out in the pump house where my sewing and craft room will soon be so I could spend more time with them and take better care of them. I don't know if I want to get more guinea pigs or try to spend lots of time with her and build her a smaller cage near the rabbit cage... I just don't know what to do right now...
