On Wednesday, My..... I Mean My Son's Guniea Pig, Flo, Gave Birth To 4 Babies. Two Have A Smooth Coat Just Like Their Dad, And The Other Two Have "messy Hair", As My Son Would Say. But I Have A Question, Does Anyone Know How Soon I Will Be Able To Tell What Sex They Are?

Yeah sure, your sons... :). Good luck with the babies.

Um... a book i read, (don't remeber the name but i know it was by Peter Gurney), said that the earliest was a week, and even then, he still made mistakes "with my good glasses on."
so, try it at a week, and then again at two weeks, to double check. At 3 weeks you should separate the babies, before you get a brother-sister litter. Hope it goes well. :)

Congrats, Granny! LOL =)

Congrats!!! But just out of curiosity, how come the pig got pregnant?

We actually had two guinea pigs to begin with. On male and one female.

Yeah and even after checking the sex of those babies, keep checking. We got a sow at 3 weeks. She was checked by me, by the breeder and by another person....female. At the weekly weigh in I give my pigs, they get the once over (to include looking at everything) She was female for almost 3 weeks. Yesterday's weigh in and check over.....she had a penis! Ack! Ack!! I am in stunned disbelief still, he is now caged apart but I potentially have pregnant girls now. So, check, recheck and check many times to be 100% sure.

Congrats on the cute babies!

ummm, you should really either get your male neutered, or leave the pair in seperate/divided cages. please try to prevent any further breeding.
