I'm glad I live in UK now after reading through this thread! The worst weather I get in Northern Ireland are gales, torrential rain and very occasionally a couple of feet of snow. No real tornadoes or blizzards, thank goodness.

Jenn and all who are having rough weather right now - please stay safe!

I'm residing in London, Ontario right now. Last week, we had weather warm enough to tan in. Then it snowed. Today it's raining buckets. It just won't settle down.

I work at the hospital and we just had a code black a little bit ago. That means TORNADO! I am so sick of this weather, this is my first code black at the hospital and let me tell you, its not fun. I guess its supposed to be like this all day, fun. I didn't see a tornado though, but there was a lot of hail. My poor animals are home alone. :(

On my radar today there's another smaller section crossing IL right now with red tornado warning boxes all over it and a little swirling storm on the western Missouri border. I'm hoping the swirling storm breaks up where it is and doesn't bring tornados over top of us tonight. We're under flood warnings and the ground is soaked. It's keeping me from getting the butter lettuce started in the garden!

I was able to get home early today (I had a wisdom tooth pulled out). I have everyone home and it's nice and sunny right now. I don't let my daughter watch the weather anymore. It just upsets her. Ok, I guess I'll enjoy what's left of the sun if this dang headache would just go away.

FINALLY. They just said everything is okay. I guess a tornado did really hit about 2 miles from here. Not close to my house though, thank god. The bad weather isn't even over yet. Hopefully no more tornados till I get home.

It seems to have skipped autumn here, because it's 19C instead of the usual Brisbane 23 for this time of year.
It's like the seasons don't matter; yesterday it was about 27 in the day and went straight to 17 at 6 o'clock.

Global warming, here we come! lol

I'm glad everyone's ok, it's pretty scary reading all these posts.

Well I think we lucked out tonight. We had one little thunderstorm which popped up and went very quickly. Hopefully you all are safe and sound.

When I got home from work my power was out. It came back on sometime after I went to bed. You know, I used to really like storms but I live in town now and you can't really see much. I loved living in the country because you could at least see what was coming, lol.

TNpigowner, are you Ok. I heard blurbs about the weather there. Our AC is off and on. One minute I open up the windows and 2 hours later I close up and turn on the AC. It is unseasonably warm here. Winter? What was that?

We got through it ok, thanks. Just more shook up than anything. (I am originally from Oregon and we never had weather like this!) We got aot of hail holes in our Westerly facing siding and dents in the truck. :(
Here are a few pics if anyone's interested.

Be sure to send thoughts and prayers and all to the folks in all the states that lost everything and loved ones due to the storms. This has really been somethin' else!

And now it is 38 degrees. Crazy.

We went to my sister's today and had to go through a area that was hit by a F3 tornado earlier this week. Had winds over 200 mph. I just couldn't believe my eyes. Houses totally leveled, trees uprooted and cars turned over. Families going through whats left, trying to find their belongings. You could see the hurt on their faces. It's something to see on TV but, to see it with your own eyes, well, it is just so.......... devasting and hurtful. I cried. The county is declared State of Emergency. I just pray that I never see anything like that again and pray that no one EVER has to go through anything like that again.

About 2 years ago, we had a hail storm in July (Yes, I did say July). We had holes in the siding on one side of the house, the way the wind was blowing. It looked like someone drove by with a machine gun and shot the side of every house in town. It was about 5 times worse than the pictures you showed. The siding replacement business made millions that year. It's very scary, I'm glad you and your family are ok.

WOW, TN. That is one massive hailstone. I would not want to be out in one of those hail showers! Ouch. Stay safe everyone. The extreme weather made the UK news the other day, I think it was about a tornado in Minnesota. xx

IL people might want to stay inside. Storm just blew up here and it's travelling southeast instead of northeast. Marble to golfball sized hail and tornados which have removed roofs on Menards and a few other businesses here in Coralville
