had I done more research and maybe even went and done the allergy tests, I may have actually found out that it wasn't the guinea pigs I was allergic to...and we would have had our girls with us today. This is something that really makes me sad amd mad at myself. At the time, I thought they were going to a good home, I gave her everything I had accumulated for them, their home, their toys, their bedding, their water bottles, feed bowls, even whatever veggies I had left for them...without any money exchanged either...just (at the time) knowing that all 5 were going to a good home that would love and take care of them as I would have...now, I have no clue...I just hope they are all happy somewhere safe. Since I was unable to reach her, I didn't have the opportunity to see if she would give at least Pebs and Nibs back (they were our original two who we had the longest), the other three were a bit smaller still not to say we weren't in love with them, but our first girls were the ones my kids were most attached to as well. So, I had gone to pick up my kids at the sitters after work last week, it just so happened she was cleaning her guinea pig cage out and was holding the most sweetest girl I have ever seen! I couldn't resist, I got to hold her and held her and held her...no hives, no sneezing, no scratchiness...hmmm...okay...I had resigned myself to knowing that my other girls were lost to me, can we really do this, can we add a couple of little ones into our family? Was on the fence, debating about it, so the boys and I ran an errand to PetSmart while my daughter was in dance class, getting cat food, litter, etc...couldn't resist going to the small pet section to see if they had any girls running around...and to my surprise, there were these two beautiful little girls...as soon as we picked them up, they just cuddled right into our arms...I didn't think Ontario had any guinea pig rescues, so we brought them home with us that day! I had the original cage from before when we first ventured into the cavy world, only had to get food, bowls, water bottle, hay...etc...they are currently residing in the boys' room to keep them away from the cat for now till we know they'll be okay in a bigger more suitable cage. Which I am now in the process of getting! And if there ever comes a time when either we are able to expand our cavy family or if (God forbid) anything were to happen to either of these ladies...I will definitely be contacting Piggles!
