I separated my little guinea pigs tonight

Oh boy, did I feel horrible about doing it too. Especially when the male realized I wasn't putting the female in the cage with him. He ran all around the cage screaching for the female. After about 20 minutes of this he has been quiet. They both are eating and seem okay.
