I Just Brought Home My New Baby Boy!!! (Pics!)

I just brought home my new baby. He is an abby with orange, black and a tiny bit of white on him with amazingly soft fur. All the texels they had where very big and seemed to be very dominant with alot of fighting being observed. I almost adopted an adult female who was heavily pregnant but I decided against it because I didn't have my mom with me and had no idea how she would of reacted to that.. To give more information about the place it was actually a petting zoo, all the animals were rescued and adoptable, except for the two MONKEYS that were abused. They were very cute and blew kisses though. Turns out that all the guinea pigs came from a school! The teacher bought a boy and girl piggy and let them together during school hours so that the kids could see them breed. Once they had one litter and none of the kids wanted the babies the teacher kept the babies together (in very cramped cages might I add) because of the schools 'rule' of 'no more than two cages per classroom' until finally some of the other teachers took the babies and by then all the female babies were pregnant and their were about 30 babies in total, some students took some pigs. Then the principle bassically said that the school stinks (I am guessing the teachers didn't really clean the cages) and all the animals had to go, so the rescue got about 10-15 pigs. Seperated the males and females and posted an ad on craigslist which is how I found it. This place also had about 15 large birds and a pair of sun conures, most of which were abused, alot of goats and sheep, baby cows, tortoises, three iguana's, the guinea pigs, about six dogs, four cats and ofcourse, the monkeys. These animals were all rescued. They have cages to DIE for. The only thing was, the zoo not knowing much about pigs only gave them pellets and hay. No veggies. My pig bassically digged into the peppers and the cilantro and brocoli that I gave him during the car ride. 8 poops! Once he got into his cage he kind of just froze up though, obviously he was scared, he was in with about 4 other boys and now he is alone. As long as he is healthy in 3 weeks he can meet Marshmellow. Also, I still want to re-name Marshmellow (An all white abby) so pair names would be appreciated.

Oh wow! What an amazing story. I think it's really interesting how animals have such a strong will to survive, and then thrive with loving owners like yourself. He is so adorable too by the way! Looks like he just woke up from a long nap. I am not so good with the names (I have one little boy with no name as it is). But good luck with your new baby!

I am really proud of myself for adopting this precious little boy.
He is actually really tiny too, I had a picture of him in his quarentine cage where you can really see his size but since it is a pet store cage (Marchioro Tommy A 120) even though it is just a quarentine cage, I found it best not to post it.

Actually, I just lost a Caramel that was paired with Marshmellow.. Which is why I want to change Marshmellows name.

It reminds me of Caramel so much, since it was a pair name and all and it just upsets me now.

Thanks! I don't know, I will have to talk it over with my mom because my dad doesn't care what I name the pigs but my mom will be like, 'Oh, I don't like that' or 'Thats stupid'

Try Snickers and Milky Way (although I do not know what color Marshmellow is, but I am guessing he is white. So maybe that wouldn't work.) Maybe Snickers and Snowball. (S&S)

He is so cute, I love Abis! My pigs are called Treacle and Toffee.

I wish I could adopt one, but I only have spce for two...

Well done for doing that, I can just imagine what a different life for him!

Well I just can't wait to be sure him and Marshy are healthy and can get them together. I really think they will be a good match, though all I can do is hope! I am pretty positive he is infact, a he, but I think I will take a picture to see what you guys think and then get a third opinion. The only reason I would even entertain the possibility that he is a she is because I know that this rescue doesn't have pigs too often and they didn't seem like they knew a real lot, which is understandable, not every one does loads of information searches befor taking in a rescue, and not every one knows how to get the right sources.
