I grew these in my back yard with some parsley and cilantro. The parsley took off great but I never saw any cilantro... anyway.

They are both about a pound each, and they are good! The end is cut off one of them because my dad wanted to know if the insides were good when we first pulled them out. The other carrots were like 2" max. Pretty lame. But these are great! I won't have to buy carrots for months! Hahaha!

Oh, and the stalks were sooooo tall! They were taller then my overgrown parsley!

Those are huge carrots! This year I grew purple carrots and round carrots but I've never seen such short, fat carrots. Are they a special type?

And if it makes you feel better, I always have problems growing cilantro too. ;)

No special type, they were just suppost to be around a foot long and thin like a normal carrot. Really weird!

Cilantro is sooo hard to grow! I even tried soaking some overnight like suggested. Maybe I will try growing them in a plantpot inside.

Wow, big enough carrots? It would take my pigs days to eat those, and they eat bags of lettuce in hours :D

It's so funny catzeye, I used to grow many kinds of herbs and veggies for several years, and I could grow cilantro in a cinch, but could never get a single darned carrot to grow to full size. Probably because in Oklahoma I was working with heavy clay soil. So needless to say, I am SO jealous, those carrots are incredible!! WOW, never seen anything like them. Now that's piggy heaven if I've ever seen it before, LOL!

Wow! Those are some big carrots. We always get big apples. If you rolled two of Peanut (pic below) up in a ball(not trying to be mean or nasty, just using it as an example.) it would look like our apples.

Those are some fat carrots. My mom always said if you want long skinny carrots then you have to till sand into the dirt. Dig about a foot deep and remove about 1/3 to 1/2 of the dirt and till in sand. The sand loosens up the dirt and allows the root (carrot) to grow deeper and stay more slender. Good luck if you try again.

They tasted delicous! lol

I didn't want them to go bad - guineas eating too slowely - so I sliced stripes that were as round as the carrot but really thin, and spread ranch dressing on them. =] This was back in November though.

Those are some awesome carrots! Bet every piggy wishes to have those! When I try to grow some veggies, they always die.(Maybe because I forget to water them often...)
