Allow me to introduce to you my new puppy!!! His name is Ammo, he's a deaf Mastiff x Great Dane puppy (its what the rescue assumed, so it's not set in stone). He weighs 35½ pounds at 3 months old. He was obviously a rescue. He should finish growing at about 120-170 pounds and 27-32 inches tall to the shoulder. He's a real sweetheart and him and Hershey (my 2 year old chocolate lab) get along great!! He's no black and tan coonhound, but I don't think I would have been happier with any other dog. Oh, and he is MY dog too! I'm paying back my parents for all his costs, and I'm his owner (officially) and my mom has even said:
"Come get your dog."
"Your dog is making a mess with the toys."
"Go let out your dog."
"Take your dog to bed with you! Don't leave him down here with me,
he's yours after all!"
Therefor he's mine. Plus I'm in charge of all training. Hahaha! I love him so much. He's a quick learner and pretty much knows sit, stay, and down. He's majority potty trained and he comes when you want him to, he just moseys his way along though! I look funny when I'm outside waving my arms, throwing jazz hands, and jumping up and down to get his attention! In the house I just stomp on the floor and wave my hands and he comes running. :D

This is like my favorite picture of his eye! His left eye is a dark hazel, and his right eye is 1/2 blue 1/2 brown!

Oh my he's absolutely beautiful, I'm so jealous! This makes me miss my dog so much. I cannot handle how adorable these photo's are!
If you want any tips on training him to behave near your pigs cage, just let me know, I've helped a few users out with this :)

Thank you! I have a lot of dog training experience, some of it even professional, and I show my lab in obedience, showmanship, and CGI Therapy. First time he noticed there were pigs he hopped right up to the stand and put his paws on the girds and leaned forward. Yeah- we put a stop to that real quick like! I don't need 4 pigs and a giant dog running amok around my room at 2:35 in the morning!! hahaha

Oh my he is just beautiful and gonna be a big boy!!!!!

I just wanna grab those ears!! So cute!

Omgosh he is so cute I love his eyes to.

He is just so cute!!! My dog use to try that too! Only she would put her feet on the dresser draws instead on the cage.

Ammo is adorable, congratulations!

Thanks guys! his ears are just so puppy soft! :)

Oh wow, he is gorgeous! When our dog went deaf, we taught him makaton signs. I use them with my kids in class.

I figure I'd update y'all. Ammo and Hershey are getting along great. Ammo knows to leave the pigs alone- but he hasn't learned to leave headphones alone. He's chewed up 3 pairs of them. >( Now I have none. Other than that, he's a great dog! He loves to steal socks and snuggle them. I can post more pictures if you all would like. :)

Yes more pictures

Sorry it took so long y'all. But here's some pics of Ammo!

Yeah, he and my chocolate lab get along as if they were littermates. However, because he can't hear, when they play fight he sometimes grabs Hershey's ear to hard and holds on so Hershey will just keep yelping. Were working on that though. He's a great puppy who stays in the yard for the most part.

He's too freaking cute. Be prepared to spend alot of money on dog food ;)

One thing might I ask, how do you train a deaf dog?

What a sweetheart! Gotta love them mutts ;)

@PiggieWigglies, it's not easy at first. You have to figure out what gets his attention to have him focus on you. In Ammos case, it's giving him jazz hands or treats. The jazz hands are for come and that's all- but it gets his attention when he's outside. When were inside, I just stomp the floor and he comes. As for sit, that's just a hand signal and a treat. Gown is another hand signal and a treat. I also say the words- because your mouth moves as another cue. I don't treat him until he does what he is told. It's gone fairly well for now.

Wow, thats amazing :) He is a cutie pie. What about if hes on the other side of the house and can't see you, how do you get his attention?
