I died today- letter

Thats so sad!Im gonna go hug my dogs...

One christmas at the mall, we went in the petstore just to have a look around. My dad wanted to get my mom a dog so he looked around. He found the cutest (And sadest) Cairn Terrier. He was cautinous because pet stores dont always sell the best dogs. He was a pure bred and we named him Nicky because St. Nicholas for short. He is 6 now and bareley had any illnesses and We love him soooo much =) So it just comes to show, saving a dog from a petshop can be helpful =) Better to save them I guess....

The other dog (My dog) Elmo we got from some amish friends. Since naturally the amish let nature take its course, he was born with no assitance. He was pretty healthy except for a mild case of hookworm which was taken care of. He has had so many injuries from being curious (Like getting hit by a car for example) But now he is ok and I love him and I hope that he loves me.

Sry for being off topic.

*Hugs Dogs*

Sorry to have to tell you but buying from a pet shop isn't rescuing. When you buy from a pet shop you are a customer, not a rescuer, and you are supporting the puppymill industry.

Your friends may not be among the following group but the Amish are big into puppymilling. They are not known to care for their animals one bit.

Wow, I found a lot. Way too many to post. Do a Google search for Amish Puppy Mill and you can find them too.

Ok sorry if this sounds a bit mean.

I found this kind of ignorant. You really don't know our amish friends. They don't mill.

second, I didn't say it was nesscesarily (Sp?) rescuing for pet stores. I must rephrase that: I consider that one time with my dog rescuing. Other times they mostly aren't healthy.

Sorry for confusion,
Moomoo

I know quite a few amish families who have dogs and they care for them really well. I didnt mean it one way but I know that you were refering to the sites that some one posted. I get letters from one amish family out in sommerset county.

Thank you Angelcavies

If you paid the pet store, it wasn't a rescue.

That's definetilly NOT a rescue. 90% of puppy mill dogs are inbred. I got one of my dogs from a rescue and two from a breeder who breeds TWO litters a year and had over 30 homes applying for each puppy. A responsible breeder.

If you had properly read my post you would have noticed that I said
"Your friends may not be among the following group..."

Before you start throwing around the word ignorant you should read the post carefully. I never said your friends were mill breeders.

I couldn't figure out what you meant in the "second" part of your post. It made no sense to me.

Anyway, it doesn't matter. The fact is that you aren't rescuing any pet that you are buying from a pet shop and some of the worst puppymills are owned by Amish. Just take a look at those links I provided. There is a chance that the puppy you bought at that pet shop came from an Amish puppymill.

Just something to mull over. In the future please don't buy your pets. Try to rescue instead.

I have never gotten a dog from an amish family at all. Im saying that there are some amish families that dont do that. There may be some that do. I have rescued 5 dogs in my life time and none were full breed.

Im not trying to fight. I found this rude and thats just my opinion. So please don't go and say other people's opinions are wrong because opinions are opinions.

Best Wishes,
Moomoo

I have rescued and our dog was certified purebreed from Iowa

Truth can hurt. Opinions can be wrong. I can be under the opinion that my Guinea Pigs can fly and poop gold nuggets. However, my opinion would be wrong and most people would think I was crazy.

Gold nuggets would not be nearly as tasty to a pig as poop. And pigs can fly, but only on Delta (if I remember correctly).

hahaha *Laughs hysterically*

Im not going to argue anymore. Let us just get on with the real point of this board. I'm going to be mature nd blow this off and just forget about it.
Moral: Everyone has opinions

Best Wishes,
Moomoo
