Tonight the temps are high with 100 percent humidy and worst through out the week. I decided to cut Harriette, Moppy, and Dusters hair pretty short since they are burning up too. Harriette looks like she got a buzz cut and the other two got bunch of layers cause they would not sit still. I will post pics tomorrow. I hate seeing long hairs go but its just too hot for them and I would rather see cool piggies than hot sick piggies.

When I held harriette before her cut she felt like she came out of the hot oven. Once I cut her down she felt better and cool. All 3 did feel that way. They look so much better and compfy.

Poor babies. I do not miss living back East with heat and humidy. You just can't get away from it. AZ, gets hot but it is a dry heat and when the sun goes down it cools off.
Every house has some kind of cooling so that helps too. I have put frozen soda bottles in with my pigs when it is over 100. They like to lay on them. Stay cool, I hope your temps cool down soon.

:snicker:

That's funny! They'll never come back to your beautician shop after their bad haircuts. I think they may take their business elsewhere.

Poor little pig walking around with a buzz cut saying "Look what she did to me! Do you see this? How can I go out in public like this? Stop laughing you guys - your haircuts aren't much better!!!"

OK...now we need pictures.

Definetily pictures... poor piggies.

Ah, the mom hair cut special. I remember those.

Well at least they are cooler. That's what matters. I would love to see pictures.

I was wondering, since guinea pigs can't sweat like dogs, if it does more harm then good to shave them and give them cuts? I know with long haired dogs, their long hair keeps them cool in the summer, and warm in the winter.

I know that when I had my pigs outside one time in the shade, for only 15 minutes while cleaning their cage (this was many years ago) it got too hot and two of my short haired pigs suffered from heat stroke (one passed and one survived) while my peruvians weren't even affected at all. I'm guessing it would have been a different story if I had shaved them down.

My pigs do not go outside anymore unless is 60-70 degrees, so I do have one of my peruvians shaved down, not because of the heat, but because of other pigs barbering.

Well Harriette hides in the binky when people comes in our homes and she would not let us see her either. I think she looks cute and her hair looked like it was bleached too. Ok ok hold your beans. Here they are. Before and after.

Yeah they do don't they. Harriette is mad cause I cut her so pretty hair because she is a drama queen.

Awww that's adorable; you just have to love the "summer look", hehehe.

I can relate to the whole drama queen thing (except drama "king" maybe for the boys...) they both know when I've given them butt trims, and they start waddling around and complaining about it for a good few minutes. Then they forget about it, *laughs* silly pigs!

Hope they stay nice and cool now!

yeah I would have gotten the boys down shorter but I think that they had bad experince with siccors. So I had to stop there. Harriette on the other hand she let me do it and she is just lazy.

by the way welcome back miko

Oh how funny! They're after pictures almost look like they're embarrassed you're taking their picture! They are still sweeties and they'll thank you for it later.

Drama Queen will get over it too. Just tell her she'll get her nice beautiful hair back soon!

Wow, after seeing those pictures I guess my haircutting days aren't over. I thought mine was bad, well, maybe my piggies can enter a beauty contest.

lol Yeah we should do that and see what the judges say.

That is so funny. Poor piggies ^_^
