Well my name is Amanda, I was born and raised in WI but am currently living in Houston, TX with my fiance whom was originally born and raised in TX. I had a guinea pig when I was 8? I don't remember the sex but do remember it's name was Multi, he/she was multi colored white, brown, and black I believe? I am now 24 and wanting new companions to help with homesickness and I need some thing to love, it's been to long without a pet and no family is near to visit. I plan on getting two boys, I found a breeder(I have been browsing petfinder.com etc. too) about an hr away with two boys who are almost identical and I'm thinking of naming them Jager and Miester. Any questions feel free to message me, I'm always on.

Welcome! You will get more replies tomorrow, but the site definitely slows down after about 10 pm. I'm pretty nocturnal though... I grew up in Houston, and my family lives there! Several people on this site will probably urge you to consider adoption. I've heard from others on this forum that Texas Rustlers is a great rescue, but it's near Dallas so not very close
I sometimes take it for granted that there is an amazing small animal rescue just 15 min from my house, but if you are willing to adopt, I bet some of us could help you search for the perfect pair of boars to adopt that aren't too far from you!

I have a neutered male with three females. The male (Steve) is ridiculously laid back and friendly, and he is only 4 months old!

When I heard about Texas Rustlers I was knee deep in till I seen their location it would be a 4hr drive so I am upset about that. I also looked into Petfinder and checked out Nutmeg and Percy, I am in love with Percy but Nutmeg doesn't "call to me" and they're bonded I didn't think it fair to find one so adorable and the other not, that probably makes me sound like a horrible person. I don't want to favor one over the other, so am trying to find two males that are both handsome in my eyes . I fell in love with the piggies from Bryan, TX but again at least an hr drive 1 way so about $40 in gas alone. BUT, I am still keeping my eyes peeled on the rescues near here, so don't you fear.

I wouldn't feel horrible. The way I see it, there are SO many pigs that need homes. You can't adopt them all! Good luck in your search.
