I have been looking into spaying my 7 month old girls, since I have been reading about ovarian cysts and I want to prevent that. I’m not sure how to tell if they are already spayed. I got them from the pet store when they were 2 months old. (I know that pet stores don’t usually spay, I just want to be completely confident.)

It would be completely surprising if they are spayed since you got them so young. I doubt that any responsible vet would have spayed a sow at that age.

Spaying leaves a scar (or more than one depending on the type of spay), which may or may not be visible.

To be completely sure, I recommend bringing them to a vet.

I have to find a suitable exotic vet first. Not too many in my area.

I haven'r seen any scars. I also haven't looked very carefully.

I wouldn't spend money on a vet visit to see if they've been spayed. Once you find a good exotic vet and are taking them in for something else, you can ask the vet to check.

Problems with ovarians cysts, which may not ever happen, generally don't appear until the pig is three years old or older. You've got plenty of time to figure it out.

And again, I'm sure nobody has spayed a two-month old guinea pig at a pet store. They wouldn't put that kind of money into an animal for sale unless it was absolutely necessary, and maybe not even then.
