How to bend Grids?

Hi all I am new here! I have several Male and Female Guineas and have loved checking out this site for great ideas on making their new home. We are working on building the second level and I have a few questions.

I see some ideas with bending Grids for hay racks and ramps...how do you bend them? When I tried to bend it the grids snapped. Anyone have some ideas on this? We are building the second level today and I would love to build the ramp and hay racks!

Also, does anyone have ideas on how to make food holders that are suspended on the grids, rather than bowls that they seem to poop in? I know you can buy some for like $6-10, but I was wondering about how to make one...that would let the pellet dust through, be off the floor and be less likely to be chewed on?

Thanks so much! Everyone has such wonderful ideas!

THANK YOU SO MUCH! We are almost done with our new 2 story condo! Merry Christmas to our wonderful Guineas!

No problem, glad that helped. Just make sure that the seams are facing the up and down sides (above and below) so that they don't break. Good luck!

also, the grids are probably snapping because each grid has a "breaking point". if you look closely on a grid side (along the thick outer square), you will see a part where the grid seems to be connected. this part is what cause the snapping of the grid. just make sure the sides with this "breaking point" are the top and bottom of the grids when you bend it. in other words, dont make the "breaking point" on the sides that will be bent. make sure it stays on the sides that will stay straight. does that make sense?
