I might be bringing home a baby guinea pig next week. I have been reading through the posts and found a couple that said you need to baby proof a C&C cage for young guinea pigs because they can get there head stuck in the bars.

How do you baby proof a C&C cage? Also is a 5 by 4 C&C cage big enough for two boars?

Most definitely, a 5x4 is plenty enough room for 2 boars (and then some).

To baby proof your cage you need to make it so their little heads can’t get stuck in the grids (or climb out all together depending on how young the baby is). This can be accomplished in 2 ways that seem to be used most frequently.

1) Create higher sides on your coroplast, so that they are 8-12 inches tall, instead of the standard 6 inches. This can be done with extra coroplast or just cardboard, since it’s only temporary.

2) If you have enough extra grids you can over lap them, but off-set by half a square. This will make the openings less then an inch, so no stuck piggies.

Since I don't have the money right now to buy more grids, I'm going to use cardboard!!

Thank you so much really helpful:)
