For the kitchen area, you should spot clean once to twice a day since that is with all their food and water is. Then clean it out once a week like you would with fleece/ other bedding. :)

My cage used to be all carefresh and my room smelled like something died after 3 days. Don't worry, nothing ACTUALLY died. When I had a small cage, the carefresh actually lasted a good 4-6 days before I started smelling poopies. That was the whole cage thought, not just a kitchen area.

I use carefresh for the whole cage, spot clean once a day to once every 3 days with a full cleaning after 1-2 weeks depending on how good they were at only using the bathroom in same place to be taken care of during a spot clean. If it gets stinky I clean it early but honestly never had an issue with smell

I used Carefresh confetti in my piggies litter box, the small bag lasted about 2 weeks. As my piggies use the litter box tons, it did start to smell after about 2 days. But, with a bigger cage, it won't smell for longer. :)

I have 2" of carefresh in my 2x1 kitchen, and I've had Gpiggies for just a few weeks. My girls seem to only PP in the kitchen now, and still poop everywhere. With the carefresh, you can easily recognize the soiled areas (most Gpigs end up favoring one corner- mine have already,) so I just scoop up poops and the soiled bedding with a tiny scoop twice a day at veggie time. I have only pulled out the kitchen for a full dump and sanitizing once, so I went about 1.5 weeks before a full change out, and there's over 1/2 packed in bag left. I have fleece over Zorb2 on my other floors, and I tell you, I have only ever smelled Timothy hay in that room. Also- carefresh DOES track onto your fleece if you don't use a buffer (brick, fiddle sticks, etc.) Hay on fleece = bummer. Hay on Carefresh = simple clean up! Good luck :)

I change my "kitchen" litter box every other day. For a larger kitchen area I've scooped out the most littered areas every other day and changed the whole thing every 5-7 days depending on need.
