I was just wondering how many pounds of hay that are in a bale from a local feed store. I want to compare prices weather I should order or buy from the feed store.

lowe's pet hay in Pennsylvania has a half bale listed as 20 pounds, give or take a little for moisture

the website is (broken link removed), you could probably get it pretty cheap with shipping b/c you are so close- I have heard good things about them, and need to find a new hay source myself, so I am thinking about from ordering from them.

Sweet I could do smaller payments if I get billed too. I might just do that since our car isn't doing well going far.

Hay can come in so many different size bales. It depends on who bales it to how much it weighs. The bales I buy around here weigh anywhere from 90-115lbs.

I get a big bale of timothy hay about once every 2 monthes from our local feed store. They are "real" bales of hay so they weigh about 100-120 pounds.

My father in law is taking me there tomorrow hopefully. Finally I can have normal price range for the piggies and bunnies. Ly how much did you pay for that much.

Boy you are all so lucky. I got a bale (I think about 50# of hay) but it cost me $22 U.S. Oh well, it's still so much cheaper than any other hay that I really can't complain.

Yeah well you got to do what you got to do. If you can't get some at the feed store then I would order them than going to some pet store that over charges you. oh yeah they are Ly. It is stil in our car at work. I had to take a hand full and put it in a bag to walk home with it. He was 15 mins late for work so he can get some hay. Oops. We told our manager that some one hit the back end of our car at the bank. We got our tax money today.

I gave them a bit of hay that I was able to walk home with. When my boys go to sleep their head starts twitching. Ever since I went back to bedding and gave them hay. 2 out of 7 of my boys started doing that today. What could that be.

Woah, woah, woah Angel! No hay for a month?! What the heck? You could've at least picked up hay from the local pet shop! You might need a trip to the vet for teeth trimming, but I'm not sure how fast their teeth grows. If so, you'll have to take in each and every pig.

I checked their teeth and they are fine. Dont worry. I called the exotic vets about 2 weeks ago so they can tell me what to look in their mouths and they are fine. I couldnt get to a store at all and Plus I ain't paying 10 dollars for 2 bags that lasts me 1 day. Our car wasn't working at the time and we got it fixed. I got 2 bales and we will pick up more in a month so we have stock ups. Plus there is hay mixed in the food. I could see it in the food.
