I still can't figure this out. If i got the grids (I guess that's what they're called? The things (not the Chloroplast) needed to make a C&C cage) at Bed, Bath, and Beyond and I'm making a 2x5 C&C cage with no top or bottom, then how many packages would I need to buy? One? How many grids would it take?

Hi
You would need 15 grids if you are making a 2x5 c&c cage

For a 2x5 cage, you will need 14 grids and 28 connectors.

Well in my box that I got from target awhile back I know it had 21 grids in it, I have no idea about the connectors but enough to make a 2X5 cage. What does the box say? My box showed a 6 cube storage organizer and I just simply counted the grids from the picture, it didn't state on the box how many grids were in the box.

Taboo,

What size are your grids? The only ones I could find at BB&B are 14 1/2 in... In fact, that's the only size I've been able to find.

How can 2 x 4 grids add up to being 2'x4' if they're that large? I guess that's a dumb question but, I don't get it. :boggled:

When I look at other people's cages, that's how it's set up... Where is everyone finding the proper size at?

With 14" grids, the measurements should be:
41" x 27" for a 2 x 3 grid cage
56" x 27" for a 2 x 4 grid cage
71" x 27" for a 2 x 5 grid cage
84" x 27" for a 2 x 6 grid cage

Oooh, I see. I thought 2 x 4 meant "feet"... It is only referring to the number of grids and not the actual size then? O.K., I think I got it now.

Each grid is normally 14 inches all around. When we say a 2x4 or 2x5 or whatever, that means 2 grids x 4 grids, etc.

Ah, finally I understand now. :D

ANother question: Would a rabbit be able to jump straight over the top of a C&C cage? Because I really want an open top one but my rabbits free range in the room where my C&C will be.

Possibly. I would recommend making it 2 grids high then instead of one.

Yes, rabbits can probably jump over 1 grid (except I've never owned rabbits, so I'm not 100% positive). Making it 2 grids high is advisable.

What kind of rabbit do you have? I had an Angora rabbit and he could easily jump 3 feet in the air... He was hilarious. I miss him so much.

I have 2 mini lops and 3 days ago we adopted an abandoned baby bunny. I'm not sure what breed he is yet but I'm thinking he may be a mini rex.

Two mini lops and just adopted a baby bunny 3 days ago that I'm still not sure what his breed is. I'm thinking maybe a mini rex.

My 2 mini lops dont jump very high, maybe 1 1/2 foot at most (thats when Izzy jumps on top of my cat's litterpan). I'll put 2 grids on top just in case though.

I love lops, they're so cute... The ones I've been around are just huge cuddle buddies. :cheerful:

Do you have a picture of the baby? I might be able to tell you what it is.

This is the coat texture of a Rex... When you touch it, it feels just like a really soft velvet. Hope that helps some. :)

Yeah, I think he is a mini rex, only he's a castor colored one (He's brownish).
