What Is The Average Age Of A Guinea Pigs Life? I've Heard Different Ages....WHATS The Longest Age Has Anyone Heard Of????

Julie

Anything around 4-7 is average, but there are pigs who have lived beyond 10 years. A lot of it depends on husbandry (how you care for your pigs in terms of diet, environment etc) but breeding also plays a significant part. Pigs who are heavily inbred for example, are less likely to achieve a long lifespan.

My longest living pigger was 7 when he died.

From what I read, correct me if I'm wrong, according to the Guiness, the longest time a gp lasted was 15 years.

But normally, yeah, its 4-7 years

my oldest is 6 hes got a cataract and almost blind out of one eye and still is the alpha in his group maybe hes wizard or sumthing lol

My oldest is around seven. Ive had some problems, but he doesnt seem to be ready to call it quits just yet:)
