I am investigating some bulk hay...I looked at KM>but the shipping is more than 25 lbs of hay and some pellets.

I found this on Ebay.Anyone ordered from here before?
25 lb PREMIUM 2nd Cut Timothy Hay-Guinea Pig,Chins | eBay

About how long should I expect 25lbs of hay to last 3 guinea pigs?

45 pounds will last my two pigs about 6-7 months, so you can figure about 2.5 pounds of hay per pig per month. But that's if you don't put it down for them to play in -- that takes more.

We had 12 guineas before the baby boom, and we had bought a 3 string bale of timothy hay (approximately 100 lbs) and still had about half a bale left 30 days later. We tend to feed lots in big piles, my pigs love to play in it, nest in it, eat it.. lay on it and eat it... pull it around their cages...ect. So you probably would get 2 months or so out of 25 lbs - if you feed the way we do.. :D

That price is really high. I pay $55.00 plus tax for 50 lbs of oxbow orchard grass. No extra cost for shipping. I order it at our local Pet Supplies Plus and the manager has it sent to the store where I pick it up.

Beachgurl, you might want to investigate Sweet Meadow Farm | Rabbit and Guinea Pig food | Horse Riding Programs -- they're much closer to you than KM, and the shipping should be considerably less.

But since you're in northern Virginia, you're in prime horse country, so somewhere around there you should be able to find a good grass hay. I'd call some horse stables and ask where they get theirs.

I found some Oxbow on Drs. Foster and Smith...25lbs or 50lbs. I'm going to order a 25lb and see how long that will last us!
